My brewing eqipment
This is how I fly sparge
I have to credit Ernie for this method but I love it. It is a collinder lined with coffee filters to slow it down. I syphon the hot liquor from the pot into the collinder and adjust the valve and the line stopper so that just as much goes in as comes out. This is a picture of us doing it in his mash tun. We would periodically slide it back and forth so that it doesn't burrow a hole in the grain bed.
I don't have a picture of me using it in my mash tun but it works just the same, I just can't move it around
This is also a cool picture of my awesome custom 3 teir brewing setup.

The mash tun
This is my Mash tun. It is a 5 gallon igloo cooler, I removed the spigot and installed a brass valve and a length of hose. For now i filter the wort through a laundry drain mesh sock type thing. It is made from stainless steel and does the job good enough.
Brew pot
This is my XL brewpot. It is a converted keg with a weldless ball valve.
Brew pot
_This is my brew pot. It is an aluminum 8 gallon cajun cooker that I
commandeered from my father when I decided that he wasn't as excited
about frying turkeys as I was about making beer. Aluminum does get bad
press on homebrew sites but this one was well oxidized and seems to work
fine.
Wort chiller
My wort chiller is just a coil of 1/2" copper tube. This one is only 25' long but does the trick for my smaller volume batches. In the summer I coil up the inlet hose in an ice bath to improve cooling.
Stir plate
This is my stir plate. I bought the components at Radio Shack. It consists of a computer fan, a switch, a 25ohm pot and an additional 44ohm resister. the jar on it is from my French press coffee thingy. it is 1 liter I think. This was a starter for a 1 gallon batch
Grain mill
This is a Victoria mill. It works great. I feed the crushed grain through the coffee can to control the mess
Fermentation chamber
My fermentation chamber is just a cooler on it's side that will hold a 5 gallon bucket with an airlock. I put frozen water bottles to lower and maintain temperature.
