On a lighter note, PIPA has been bottled and sampled. The Phinyweizen is coming around. The Nut Brown was bottled last night and shows some promise. Ernie and I sampled the bourbon oak version and it was exquisite. I also pulled the trigger and bought a kegging setup. It was neccesary. now to fill it up.
In anticipation of the 18th annual Montgomery County agricultural Fair Homebrew competition, I brewed up a special batch of Penelope IPA (PIPA) and Pinyweizen. Sadly though, the competition has been canceled. I am not quite sure why but until I am I can only assume that last years BOS was the greatest homebrew of all time and nothing could possibly compare to it so why continue the competition. As such I declare myself the reigning champion because, as we all know, to be the best you have to beat the best. Since nobody has beaten me I remain the champion and will act in accordance with such title and accept all accolades, honors and responsibilities of it. Thank you again.

After Bottling the Phinywiezen and brewing our Duck Peninsula Nut Brown at my house on memorial day we made a move to the Palace Ernie to brew up our Penelope IPA, which will henceforth be known as my PIPA. WE sammpled the Phinywiezen which is not quite there yet. The NUt Brown wil sit for a while I think because I am extraordinarily busy with stuff and because it needs a bit more time to marinate. the PIPA will be done in a few weeks.
I am a bit concerned that I havn't heqard any news on the MoCo Ag fair homebrew competition. I recall that the guy who ran it last year gave it up but he annaounced and introduced the guys who were taking it over. I Hope to hear something about it soon. Or.............. perhaps after experiencing and then crowning my IPA the best in show they decided that all other beer in the county will never live up to it so they should retire the competition. or mabey not. We'll see. |
