Body by beer
Hello. I like beer and I like making beer. Sometimes it sucks , most of the time it is very good and often it is great. I made this page to keep track of the goings on at my home brewery. I have been brewing beer for several years and thoroughly enjoy it. I have made all manner of beers and made some junk to assist me in the process, all of which is shown here.

On Christmas of 2005 my father received a gift of one Mr. Beer kit. This intrigued me so I volunteered to help him make it. I commandeered the kit after I decided that he wasn't quite as excited at the prospect of crafting his own alcoholic beverages as I was. The product was finally ready in April 06 and tasted very similar to Schlitz malt liquor. It wasn't terrific but a fun experiment. I tried several different Mr. Beer extract kits and a few years after my first brew I stepped up to a 5 gallon kit. It wasn't long before I was steeping specialty grains and dreaming of going all grain. This would require some specialized equipment and, being very cheap, I began constructing my mash tun. Boiling larger volumes would require better cooling methods so I made an immersion chiller. At this point I was making lots of beer and decided to buy a cheep grain mill. My latest project was my stir plate because yeast costs money and I'm cheap. I made a bunch of partial mash 5 gallon brews and a bunch of smaller all grain brews before brewing 5 gallon all grain beers. this helped me get a feel for ingredients and nail down my process. I come up with most of my own recipes but, honestly they are just tweaked recipes i found posted on the internet. I have mastered nothing but would like to make available all of the lessons I have learned.
